The Citroën C1 had a complete overhaul in late 2014 with a
new body style that doesn’t look out of place next to the popular DS range and
a new convertible option. But is it enough of a change from the old model to
make you look twice?
New Design
The first thing you really notice about the new Citroën C1
is how it looks, its easier on the eye with new dynamic lines and a more urban,
street ready feel compared to the older Citroen C1. It looks bigger to me as
well, more commanding on the road, but its not…

The new Citroën C1 is longer, but it’s slimmer and shorter
than the previous model and that really surprised me.
Interior
The outgoing C1 was quite spacious in the front for a small
car and this continues with the new model, however to accommodate the new
design the headroom in the back has decreased but most back seat passengers
will still travel in comfort.
The new Touch Drive 7 inch display brings the car right up
to date and allows easy navigation to the cars general settings, trip computer,
DAB radio, Bluetooth and acts as the screen for cars fitted with the reversing
camera.
The boot volume isn’t bad either for a small car with a
storage capacity of 196 litres up to the parcel shelf and a massive 780 litres
with the rear seats folded down.
Safety
The outgoing Citroën C1 received an N-Cap safety rating of 3
Stars in 2012, the test altered again in 2014 to accommodate crash avoidance
systems and put more emphasis on safety assist features. The new Citroën C1
scored 4 out of 5 in 2014 and scored 80% on both Adult occupant and Child
occupant categories.
As standard all new Citroën C1’s come with:
- ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Emergency Brake Assist
- Cornering Stability Control
- Electronic Stability Control
- Hill Start Assist
- Driver, Front passenger, Front lateral, curtain airbags
- Front seatbelt pre-tensioners with force-limiters
- LED Daytime Running lights
The reversing camera is an option that can be fitted as part
of the optional Serenity pack.
Price
The new Citroën C1 starts at only £8,245 OTR for the 3 Door
or £9895 OTR for a 5 Door car. The Airscape, which is the convertible version,
starts at £10,495 OTR 3 Door and £10,895 for the 5 Door. Of course there are
many great offers available from Autoworld so don’t forget to check out our website
