The Peak FM Toy Appeal with Autoworld

We at Autoworld are proud to support our local community and try our best to be as active as possible in local projects. With this in mind, every year we help collect, donate and deliver vast amounts of presents for Christmas, to support various local charities. This year we wanted to spread the message even further and make 2014 the best yet so we wanted to create something iconic, something a little bit special that fits with the time of year.

The Concept

We wanted to create something that would make an impact, something people would remember and maybe even want themselves. Christmas is about giving, which is what the Toy Appeal is about so the logical conclusion was a big present on wheels!

Our design team used an outline of one of our most popular cars, a SEAT Mii i-Tech and created a Christmas gift wrap effect in Adobe Illustrator that our local signage and vinyl company could produce and follow to create the effect.

The Video

Video marketing has become a big part of Autoworld this year and will become an even bigger part next year but so far our projects had been relatively small, fixed locations with one or two people talking. But for Christmas we knew we had to move up a gear and venture out a little further a field.

Our design team developed a story board for the movie that tried to capture as many local highlights as possible whilst following a strict route that would get the car back into Chesterfield for the lights coming back on in the town centre. The route took in Dronfield, the Peak District, Chatsworth House, Matlock, Matlock Bath, Clay Cross, Bolsover and Chesterfield town centre.

The route

We bought some festive music for the video and edited the video using Final Cut Pro.

The Result

We spread the message through our social media pages and YouTube, which led to a fantastic response reaching over 1500 views and helped raise more gifts to donate to these worthy charities and local causes. So we would like to say a big thank you to the Derbyshire community for your support and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.
