Hyundai building Refurbishment "Demolition Time"

It’s full steam ahead for our Autoworld Hyundai showroom refurbishment. The builders have their plans, they have their tools and now they're rolling in the machinery, as the builders said its “demolition time”. Their first job is to demolish parts of the structure next to the showroom. What was once the sales managers office and old valet bay has now been reduced to a pile of rubble but what it has done is open up the space that is needed for the planned extension. Once the old showroom has been stripped back to the bare brickwork and frame, the builders can start the new building work.

Even amongst all the chaos and disruption that comes with building work, we at Autoworld do our best to adapt in these situations. Hyundai Building Refurbishment "Moving House"

Now that we have received the green light, the Autoworld Hyundai showroom refurbishment can get underway. The first job is for the sales team to move to their temporary new home (which arrived this morning via a very large lorry and crane) to make way for the builder’s arrival on Monday morning. It’s an exciting opportunity to keep a record and progress of the buildings development and we will be sharing this with you until the end, so please return in the near future to see how things are getting on.

Meet the Forecourt Attendants

First impressions count for everything and at Autoworld we take pride in the appearance of our cars and forecourts so that “you” the customer can see them at there best. The clean presentation of our cars and grounds are down to our hard working forecourt team, they ensure that the cars on our forecourts and within our showrooms are kept up to the highest of standards in all weathers and seasons at all times.

“Its a fight against the elements all year round, but we do our best to keep on top of the job” Barry Unwin says (leader of the team). He explained how much the job changes over the seasons, “at the moment we are getting sand blown up from the sahara so we have a lot of cars to clean and later on in the year we have the autumn fall to deal with, then of course the cold winter months where we will keep the grounds clear from snow and keep the paths gritted'. This is just another example of how Autoworld and its employees are dedicated to give you the best possible customer experience whilst you visit us.

Alfa Romeo 4C Test Drive

With the launch of the eagerly awaited Alfa Romeo 4C on the horizon, our Autoworld Alfa Romeo sales manager Dave Smith was honoured to be given the opportunity to have a hands on experience with the exciting new model at the Donnington Motor Park. On arrival he took a tour around two workshops where he learn’t about the design, from the initial concept, right up to the final implementation. They explained that their vision was to design a thing of beauty that was defined by function, aerodynamics and kept within the style of what Alfa Romeo is known for. He also took a tour into the inner workings, learning how the Alfa Romeo 4C employs the latest technologies such as the all new, all- aluminium 1750 turbo petrol engine, the latest generation ALFA TCT dry twin clutch semi-automatic transmission and the Alfa D.N.A, driving mode selector with the all new “Race” mode, just to name a few of the Alfa Romeo 4C advancements.

The Lap

First up was a two lap introduction to the old F1 circuit, Dave was driven around by Rob, a man who had a rich understanding of both sports and super cars, a man who had previously worked on the Mclaren P1. The first flying lap was in Rob’s words “tame” as what followed was taken up onto another level. Next up was Dave’s turn, Dave described the experience as “simply stunning, it really gave me the feeling that I was driving a race car, the sounds of the engine, the feel of the handling was perfect, this is a very emotive piece of machinery” and from that moment Dave knew that this car marked the start of a new generation of Alfa Romeo sports cars. The Alfa Romeo 4C's arrival is expected in April 2014 and for Dave and many others, that day can't come soon enough.
